The Detroit chapter has a rich history of former leaders such as Dr. Aubrey Lee Sr. , Linda Forte, Tyrone M. Davenport, Cathy Lewis, Kala Gibson, and Beatrice Kelly. UFSC Detroit is a diverse organization that has helped financial professionals for almost 50 years. We are excited about the future of the UFSC Detroit chapter and the Dr. Aubrey Lee Sr. Scholarship Program.

Dr. Aubrey W. Lee Scholarship Program Impact Report 2024- 2025
Mission: UFSC Detroit's mission is to be the pre-eminent financial services organization providing professional development programs & supporting educational advancement while promoting economic empowerment for its members & minority communities. The Dr. Aubrey W. Lee Scholarship Program is a 501(C)((3) non-profit organization created to honor the vision of Dr. Aubrey W. Lee Sr. by granting scholarships to African American students in the state of Michigan, who are focused on aspiring to careers in Finance and Business.

Scholarship Program Background: In 2021 the UFSC Detroit Chapter decided to start a scholarship to honor the late Dr. Aubrey W. Lee, Sr’s legacy of educating, informing, & providing opportunities to the next generation. Since 2022, the scholarship committee executed Dr. Aubrey W. Lee, Sr. scholarship & has awarded $27,000 to 12 unique Black recipients with 4 repeat winner!
- 2022: Total of $8,500 to 5 recipients
- 2023: Total of $8,000 to 4 recipients
- 2024: Total of $6,000 to 4 recipients
- 2025: Total of $4,500 to 2 recipients
2024 - 2025 Impact: As a 501(c)(3) organization, the Dr. Aubrey Lee Sr. Scholarship Program has & will continue to have exciting opportunities to seek funding from various donors. As a result of the 501(c)(3) designation & donor gifts, the fund honored the educational legacy of Dr. Lee by awarding two exclusive scholarships to Michigan-resident students, totaling $4,500. The recipients were carefully selected by the board & their fields of study represented Finance Law Studies & Supply Chain management. These talented future business leaders came from the following esteemed institutions:
- Delaware State University
- Western Michigan University
Next Steps: Looking ahead, the Dr. Aubrey Lee Sr. Scholarship Program remains committed to its mission, aspiring to continue providing valuable support and empowerment to the next generation of business and finance leaders.
